The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is located on the Arabian Gulf coast, sharing borders with the Sultanate of Oman to the east, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the south and west, and Dubai to the northeast.

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi comprises three main regions:

The Abu Dhabi region , which includes the capital city of Abu Dhabi, the seat of the President of the UAE, the Cabinet, most ministries and foreign embassies, Zayed Port, and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The Al Ain region to the east, a highly fertile area known for its farms. To its south lies Jebel Hafeet, the highest mountain in the Emirates, rising to 1,240 meters above sea level.

The Al Dhafra region , which contains numerous forests planted to combat desertification, as well as some onshore oil fields. The region includes seven major cities: Liwa, Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi, Ruwais, Al Marfa, Sila, and Dalma Island.

The Emirate has four main bridges connecting Abu Dhabi city to the mainland: Al Maqta Bridge, Al Musaffah Bridge, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, and Sheikh Khalifa Bridge.
